Swedish Massage

This is the most classic type of bodywork and truly tranquilizing. It increases circulation prompting the ultimate relaxation with delicate strokes on the muscles and joints. Usually features heat packs and a blend of essential oils which bewitches the senses and leaves you feeling more energized.

Deep Tissue Massage

This technique is used to benefit stiffness by applying deep pressure into the muscles, joints, and tissues to speed up the healing process. This curtails inflammation increasing the circulation of blood flow. It is less relaxing than a Swedish massage but really loosens you up and will have a beneficially calming effect that lingers on days to weeks after you leaving the table.

Shiatsu Massage

This is a Japanese form of massage that pulls from eastern medicine practices. It rhythmically focuses on pressure points intended to let go of harmful blocked energies in the body and aid possible ailments.

Chiropractic Massage

This approach is helpful if you’ve had ongoing trauma on the body. Its purpose is to manipulate the body to remind it of the healthy muscle memory that existed before injury. It spotlights the attention onto the nervous system, vertebrae, joints, muscles, and soft tissue. This technique is also used to prevent pain that can occur in the body from the stress of everyday life. Sometimes gels that produce the hot and cold sensation are used during the session. You’re likely to feel sore afterwards but give it a couple days and your musculoskeletal will feel deliciously loose like it’s taken a Xanax.

Pregnancy Massage

This phrase is really used for any style massage done on a woman while pregnant or post pregnancy. Most therapists will use a pregnancy table to accommodate Mommy’s belly. If they don’t have these tables they will utilize bolsters and pillows to maximize comfort level. This is a great thing to experience because it decreases harmful hormonal energies and tames tension in the body.
